Описание
Kria Cottages are an excellent choice for people who want the convenience of the Ring Road but also gorgeous natural views. The property is well connected to towns and amenities but has a beautiful riverside location, providing wonderful views of the river as it opens out into the Borgarfjordur fjord.
Location & Nearby
Kria Cottages are in West Iceland, roughly halfway between Reykjavik and the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. This makes it a great base for exploring the tourist sights in this region without the hustle and bustle of a city stay.
The cottages are situated on the side of Brekkufjall mountain. They’re also right next to the beautiful Andakils river, so guests can enjoy beautiful views of both the mountain and the water. On a clear day, you can see all the way over to the Snaefellsjokull volcano. The area around the accommodation is also rich in birdlife, and it’s a lovely place to see the northern lights during the winter.
Kria Cottages are about 4 miles (6 kilometers) from the town of Borgarnes. Here, you’ll find several good restaurants, as well as bars, supermarkets, gas stations, and a pharmacy. Borgarnes is also home to museums such as the Settlement Museum and an outdoor swimming pool.
The cottages are also conveniently located for people traveling around Route 1. The Ring Road is under 5 miles (7 kilometers) away, meaning it’s easy to reach some of the most famous attractions in the whole of Iceland. The sights of the Golden Circle are within easy driving distance — Thingvellir National Park is 55 miles (70 kilometers) from the accommodation.
Facilities & Amenities
The accommodation at Kria Cottages consists of three cottages. You can rent one on its own, or multiple cottages at once — just check what’s available for your travel dates.
The largest of the three cottages has two bedrooms, both with double beds. There’s also a double sofa bed in the living room, so there’s space for up to six guests. This cottage has a full-sized kitchen with an oven and a stove. There’s also a shower room and a separate W.C. This cottage offers gorgeous views of the nearby river.
The second cottage has one double bedroom, but there’s a double sofa bed in the living room so you can sleep four people here. There’s a kitchen with a stove and a microwave, plus a spacious bathroom with a comfortable walk-in shower. This cottage is suitable for wheelchair users.
The third cottage is the smallest, but it’s cleverly designed to maximize space. The main sleeping area is a double sofa bed, but there’s also a single bunk above the sofa, so the cottage can sleep three. There’s a toilet and a sink, but no shower facilities in this cottage. If you’re traveling in a group, you could book this cottage and another to share bathroom facilities. This cottage also has a lovely view of the river.
All three of the cottages come with towels and bed linen, and there are barbecue facilities for guests to use too. Cook up a tasty meal outside and enjoy it in the outdoor dining area — ideal for late nights under the midnight sun. Note that there’s a two-night minimum stay for the larger two cottages.
