I have shown you the wonderful Westfjords of Iceland in many of my travel blogs, as I believe that the Westfjords will be a top destination in Iceland soon. Now I want to show you the two stone men, who don't go unnoticed on Kleifaheiði heath and by Penna river on the south side of the Westfjords region. Gluggafoss waterfall - the Window Falls is a beautiful, approximately 44-meter-tall waterfall in Fljótshlíð in South Iceland, often overlooked by travellers. It is actually a series of waterfalls along the small river Merkjá, and together they are called Merkjárfoss Falls. Finally, I was able to see the volcanic eruption in Mt. Fagradalsfjall on the Reykjanes peninsula with my own eyes. We had booked a helicopter flight at the start of the eruption, but it wasn't until 7 weeks later that it was our turn, as demand for flights to the volcano was so high. The people on the long waiting list were mostly Icelanders, as no tourists were visiting Iceland due to COVID-19 restrictions. After 3 weeks of almost constant earthquakes, approximately 40,000 of them to be exact, which were driving us crazy here on the south-west corner of Iceland, we finally got a volcanic eruption at Geldingadalir by Mt. Fagradalsfjall on the Reykjanesskagi peninsula. A crater opened in Geldingadalir, which spewed out primitive molten lava 17 km from the Earth's mantle, something that is quite out of the ordinary - but then this volcanic eruption is out of the ordinary, as there has not been a volcanic eruption in this location for some 6,000 years! Látravík and Breiðavík are well-known coves in the Westfjords of Iceland, but both of them belong to the Útvikur coves.  Many people have heard about Látrabjarg, the largest seabird cliff in my country, in the vicinity, which is the best place to photograph a puffin in Iceland. The amazing Lambafellsklofi Rift on the Reykjanesskagi Peninsula in South-West Iceland

One of the many spectacular sights on the Reykjanes peninsula in southwest Iceland is the mystical Lambafellsklofi rift in Mt. Lambafell, which most likely dates back to the second-to-last glacial period.  It is a sight worth seeing, as Mt. Lambafell here almost appears to have been ripped in two by dislocation or tension fractures. And it is possible to hike inside the narrow rift.
