Secret Lagoon is located here
At The Secret Lagoon, or Gamla Laugin as we call it, we welcome you to the oldest swimming pool in Iceland. Built in 1891 at Hverahólmi near Flúðir, our lagoon has been a place of relaxation for generations.
What makes our lagoon truly special is the constant flow of warm, mineral-rich water from nearby hot springs. Vaðmálahver, Básahver, and Litli Geysir—an active geyser that erupts every few minutes—provide 100% of our water supply. The pool refreshes itself completely every 24 hours, staying clean, warm, and naturally rich in sulfur, with a soothing temperature of 38–40°C year-round.
We’ve kept the Secret Lagoon natural, simple, and authentic, so you can enjoy a genuine Icelandic bathing experience that is relaxing, healthy, and unforgettable in any weather.
