Iceland Rocks: Meeting Kaleo and planning my trip
Just a girl with big dreams
I have always wanted to go to Iceland for the welcoming people, the unique culture, and the breathtaking nature. However, my trip always seemed like a far off daydream...until now :) This summer, I finally have the opportunity to visit and I am beyond excited!
Iceland comes Akron, Ohio
Last Wednesday, Kaleo, a cool breakout band from Iceland, performed at Musica in my hometown Akron. As they played their set of acoustic, bluesy, and classic rock tunes, I got more and more excited at the prospect of going to Iceland this summer. After they played, I was lucky enough to talk to three members of the band, JJ, Danny, and David who were all very nice.
When I told them about my upcoming trip and asked for any recommendations, they said to go to the Westman Islands Festival as it would be happening while I was there. From what I've been able to find out about it on the internet, it looks awesome! Þjóðhátíð here I come!
If anyone has any suggestions or recommendations, please message me. I would like to know more about logistics like what to bring, how to get there, how cold it will be, etc. If you've ever been to the festival, I would love to hear about your experience! Thanks, I really appreciate it!
