Your adventure starts with a private transfer from Keflavik International Airport. You'll travel in style to your accommodation in Reykjavik. Depending on your arrival time, you can spend some time sightseeing before boarding a Super Jeep and heading out to look for the northern lights.
The aurora borealis is a natural phenomenon, so there's no guarantee they'll appear in the night sky. However, your guide knows dark places to avoid the city's light pollution to give you the best chance of seeing them. Please note that the northern lights tour is only available during the winter.
On the second day of your tour, you'll be picked up from your accommodation in a Super Jeep and set out on a Golden Circle day tour.
The first stop is the Thingvellir National Park, a place of cultural and geographical importance. It's the site where the first Icelandic parliament was founded in 980 AD. It's also where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates meet, and the Earth's crust slowly pulls apart.
Next up is the Geysir geothermal area in the Haukadalur valley. Here, you'll see geysers, hot springs, and steam vents. Geyser, the geyser that all other geysers are named after, is no longer active, but the nearby Strokkur geyser erupts every few minutes.
The final stop on the Golden Circle sightseeing route is Gullfoss waterfall. Often referred to as "Golden Falls," it cascades dramatically in two stages, dropping around 105 feet (roughly 32 meters) into a canyon carved by the Hvita River. Its enormous size provides an incredible spectacle, and you'll have time to enjoy the view and take plenty of photos.
You'll spend the rest of day two off-roading in the Icelandic Highlands and visiting the Langjokull glacier, Iceland's second-largest ice cap.
On the third day, you'll tour Iceland's South Coast and go ice-caving at Katla Ice Cave. You'll see black-sand beaches, coastal cliffs, wild birdlife, Skogafoss and Seljalandsfoss waterfalls, Eyjafjallajokull glacier, and small coastal villages.
On the last day of the tour, you'll have a private transfer back to Keflavik International Airport. If you add a Blue Lagoon stop when booking, you can spend a few hours relaxing in Iceland's most famous geothermal spa before your flight.

Day 1 - Arrival and northern lights hunting
On the first day of your adventure in Iceland, you'll arrive in the country and have some time to explore Reykjavik. If traveling in the winter, you'll also head out in a Super Jeep on a northern lights hunting tour.
You'll land at Keflavik International Airport. Once you've collected your luggage, make your way to the arrivals hall, where your driver will be waiting to take you to your accommodation in Reykjavik. You have a private transfer, so waiting for other guests is unnecessary. You can leave as soon as you and your party are ready, and the driver can help you with any luggage.
Depending on your flight's arrival time, you can also stop at the Blue Lagoon geothermal spa on the way to Reykjavik for an additional cost. Relax in the azure blue waters, which are said to have healing properties. It's an excellent way to start your trip to Iceland.
On arrival in Reykjavik, you might have some time to go sightseeing. Explore the city on foot and enjoy a traditional Icelandic dinner in one of the capital's world-class restaurants. If it's winter, you'll head out in a Super Jeep to hunt for the northern lights with an experienced aurora guide.
Super Jeeps are 4x4 vehicles specially modified to navigate the rugged terrain in Iceland and drive off-road. Modifications may include larger wheels and higher ground clearance. Day 2 - Golden Circle and Langjokull Glacier
On the second day of your Iceland highlights tour, you'll see the sights on the Golden Circle route, including Thingvellir National Park, Geysir geothermal area, and Gullfoss waterfall. You'll also visit the Langjokull glacier.
The day's adventure begins with pick-up at your accommodation in Reykjavik. You'll head out of the city in a Super Jeep toward the first stop on the Golden Circle, Thignvellir National Park.
Thingvellir National Park is a place of profound historical and geological significance. It's a UNESCO World Heritage Site where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates drift apart, creating a visible rift valley.
Thingvellir National Park also played a pivotal role in Icelandic history as the site of the world's first parliament, the Althingi, established in 930 AD. The park's breathtaking landscapes include stunning vistas, crystal-clear lakes like Silfra, and dramatic waterfalls like Oxararfoss.
Next on the itinerary is the Geysir geothermal area in the Haukadalur Valley. This geothermal area is famous for its bubbling hot springs, fumaroles, and erupting geysers.
The most renowned of these is the Great Geysir, which gave its name to all geysers worldwide. Although it now erupts only sporadically, its neighbor, Strokkur, delights visitors every few minutes by shooting scalding water high.
The last stop on the Golden Circle sightseeing route is the Gullfoss waterfall. Often called the "Golden Falls," this waterfall is in a canyon of the Hvita River. Plunging in two stages, it drops around 105 feet (roughly 32 meters), creating a mesmerizing water cascade.
The Gullfoss waterfall is remarkable because of its power and location, surrounded by rugged cliffs and deep canyons. During sunny days, mist from the waterfall often catches the sunlight, producing rainbows.
You'll have a lunch break at Gullfoss Cafe before heading off-road in the Super Jeep to the Icelandic Highlands and Langjokull glacier. Iceland's second-largest glacier covers about 592 square miles (roughly 953 square kilometers). You can take an optional snowmobiling tour here at an additional cost.
On the way back to your accommodation in Reykjavik, you'll have a last stop at the small but beautiful Faxi waterfall.
Day 3 - South Coast & Katla Ice Cave
On the third day of your tour of Iceland, you'll discover the highlights of the South Coast and visit an ice cave beneath the Katla glacier in a Super Jeep.
Your guide will collect you from your accommodation in Reykjavik in a Super Jeep. You'll start the drive to the Katla volcano and glacier, where a subglacial cavern offers an otherworldly experience.
The ice cave's translucent blue ice walls and intricate ice formations are like nothing you'll have ever seen before. Some of the ice here is over 800 years old. The ice constantly changes as the glacier shifts, melts, and refreezes — meaning each ice cave visit is unique. Remember to bring your camera to capture the spectacular views surrounding you.
Once you've enjoyed the ice cave, it's time to move on, with visits to two waterfalls next on the itinerary.
The Seljalandsfoss waterfall is located along Iceland's famed Ring Road. This natural wonder is renowned for its unique hollow path, allowing visitors to walk behind the cascading water.
Fed by the Seljalandsa River, the waterfall plunges around 197 feet (roughly 60 meters) from a cliff. Its towering water is stunning, especially when illuminated by the sun.
The nearby Skogafoss waterfall is one of the country's most breathtaking natural attractions. It's about the same height as the Seljalandsfoss waterfall, but at over 80 feet (approximately 25 meters) wide, it's much broader.
The cascade captivates visitors with its sheer power and beauty. The water creates a mist, and vivid rainbows appear on sunny days.
Aside from its awe-inspiring appearance, Skogafoss waterfall is steeped in Icelandic folklore, with tales of hidden treasures said to be buried behind its curtain of water. Your guide will be able to tell you more.
Next, you'll visit a black-sand beach near the small village of Vik and see the cliffs surrounding it, rich with birdlife. Iceland's jet-black beaches have sand formed from volcanic rock sediment. It's a must-see while visiting the land of fire and ice.
You'll be driven back to your accommodation after an unforgettable day sightseeing on Iceland's South Coast.
Day 4 - Departure from Iceland
On the fourth and final day of your tour of some of Iceland's best sights, it's time to head home.
If you have an early flight, you can enjoy breakfast at your accommodation before meeting your driver for your airport transfer. This journey is a private transfer, meaning it will be just you and your party. There's no need to wait for other guests.
You will arrive at the airport with plenty of time. Once you've checked in for your flight and dropped your baggage, head through to departures. Here, you can enjoy a meal, a drink, or some shopping while waiting for your flight.
If you have a later flight, you can take a trip to the Blue Lagoon geothermal spa if you didn't have time to visit on the first day. Relaxing in the milky-blue waters and reflecting on your trip is a fantastic way to end your Icelandic adventure. It's an enchanting destination with sulfur-rich waters said to have healing properties. The spa also offers mud masks, saunas, and a relaxation area.
You could also explore Reykjavik today if you have time. Iceland's vibrant capital offers visitors a diverse range of activities and attractions. Start by exploring the iconic Hallgrimskirkja church, a towering building with panoramic city views from its bell tower.
Discover Icelandic culture at the National Museum and Harpa Concert Hall, or visit one of Reykjavik's many art galleries. Stroll along the charming Old Harbor, where you can dine on fresh seafood or see the Whales of Iceland exhibition.
