The bar opened in 2011 and has been serving Reykjavik ever since. It is an offshoot of Kaldi Brewery, which holds the distinction of being the first microbrewery in Iceland, founded in 2006. The brewery is situated in the small settlement of Arskogssandur in the North of Iceland.
