Ingjaldshóll on the Snæfellsnes peninsula in West Iceland is one of the historical sites in Iceland - a former settlement manor and an assembly, and important officials lived here.  This travel blog is a side blog to my 5-part travel blog series about the beautiful Snæfellsnes peninsula. Írskrabrunnur - the Well of the Irish is an ancient well on the west side of the Snæfellsnes peninsula in West Iceland, probably dating back to the Settlement of Iceland in the 9th century AD.   In this travel blog, I want to show you the westernmost point of the magical Snæfellsnes peninsula in West Iceland, where you will find Skarðsvík, Öndverðarnes, Svörtuloft, and Saxhólsbjarg. Laugarbrekka is a well-known stop on the south side of the Snæfellsnes peninsula in West Iceland, and here the half-troll half-man and Protector of the Snæfellsnes peninsula, Bárður Snæfellsás, settled and built his farm. Bárður lived at Laugarbrekka until he disappeared into Snæfellsjökull glacier after the incident at Rauðfeldsgjá, which I told you about in my travel blog about Bárður. In the middle of the Reykjadalsá river in the beautiful Borgarfjörður in West Iceland, you will see steam coming from a river.   It looks almost like a whale had found its way into the river and was blowing in the middle of the river.   This geological feature is a hot spring known by four names: Árhver, Vellir, Vellindishver, and Vellineshver.
