Arctic winter adventure in the highlands of Iceland.

We pick you up at Gullfoss and from there we travel on 4x4 superjeeps in the snow. This is a real arctic experience in true winter conditions. Distance from Gullfoss to Kerlingarfjoll is only some 78km and on the tour you will experience the wonderful views and magnificent nature of the Icelandic highlands - all dressed in winter clothing.

During the tour (weather permitting) we will take you on a hike on snowshoes we also will take you on a trial tour on a snowmobile. The snowmobile tour can be extended (weather permitting) to a longer tour. We have a outdoor hot tub where you can relax in the afternoon and hopefully watch the northern lights.

We are proud to offer the best equipped facilities in the highlands. In our newly built sleeping facilities we offer double rooms with made up beds and each room has a private WC and shower. In the main building we have our restaurant where we serve all meals and we also have a bar.

Weather permitting: Only some 4.5km from the resort you will be able to enter and explore the magnificent and endlessly colorful Hveradalir geothermal area. Endless variety of steaming steam holes, bubbling mudpits and boiling hot springs. This is where ice and fire meets.

Kerlingarfjöll Mountain Resort is located at the Asgarður Valley in the Kerlingarfjöll mountain cluster nested between the Langjokull and Hofsjokull glaciers. The Kerlingarfjöll mountains, which were formed in eruptions some 70.000 to 330.000 years ago rise about 700 M over the central highlands plateau in the Kjölur area.

Due to this low age, many of the mountains maintain "a shape of newly created landscape" with sharp lines and little signs of erosion, the area is famous for it s colorful appearance and magnificent views.
