Hafnarhús has six galleries, each of them very different. You will be able to find the works of famous artists and new up-and-comers; of locals and the internationally known; and the pieces reflect a wide array of different styles.
The exhibitions at Hafnarhús change regularly, meaning returning visitors will likely find new displays on repeat trips to Iceland. The form of art usually displayed here, however, is painting, unlike at the other outlets of the Reykjavík Art Museum, which tend to focus more on sculpture.
You can enter Hafnarhús for free with a Reykjavík City Card.
