Arctic Adventures

This 11-hour tour is divided into two parts. The first part is the Golden Circle afternoon tour, with pick-up starting at 12 PM, and we returned to the hotel around 7 to 7:30 PM. The second part is the Northern Lights tour, with pick-up starting at 8:30 PM. (A small reminder: although the scheduled pick-up time was 12 PM, the bus makes stops at various locations to pick up guests, so waiting for 5 to 20 minutes is normal. The driver will also confirm your name, but make sure to wait on time to avoid delaying others.) This tour was organized by Arctic Adventures. The driver-guides for both parts were humorous, lively, and enthusiastic, providing lots of information about the attractions and the Northern Lights. The small bus was modern, not too cramped, and equipped with charging ports and Wi-Fi. Overall, I think this tour was well worth joining! However, I must say that winter in Iceland heavily depends on the weather. Everywhere is covered in ice and snow, and if you encounter rainy or overcast days, the scenery might not be as stunning 😆. Also, the cold weather might make you reluctant to stay outside for too long, which is a bit unfortunate. For the Northern Lights tour in the evening, the guide was very dedicated, driving us to places far away from the city and even providing hot cocoa and snacks. Unfortunately, we went to two locations but still didn’t get a chance to see the Northern Lights. That said, the company generously offered us the opportunity to join the tour again for free within three years. In all, the trip is worth-trusted and recommended, providing an easier way to explore the iconic part of Iceland.

What a day! The guides Michael and Maja were super knowledgeable. They gave us a special private tour that was an exact fit for our climbing abilities. We had perfect conditions and went really close to the ice fall, saw a rainbow cloud, climbed up glacier cracks - all while feeling really safe. Thanks!! Can absolutely recommend booking this tour.

Tour guide/bus driver Franklin was easily the best tour guide I’ve had on any trip I’ve been on. He was engaging, informative, kind, and hilarious. The playlist he created with Icelandic songs was above and beyond and showed his dedication and love for his job and whatever you’re paying him is not enough!!! Next time I visit Iceland I will be asking for him!!
