Located between the towns of Selfoss and Hella, this feature is just off of Route 1, which encircles Iceland. Though not particularly tall, it is immensely powerful with a water flow of 360 m³ (12,700 ft³) cubed per second. This is more than half the flow of Dettifoss in North Iceland, the most powerful waterfall in Europe.
Uriðafoss is a popular river for salmon fishing in the summer.
