Better than helicopter flight in Iceland could be only longer helicopter flight in Iceland
The main advantage of a guide´s job is exploring Iceland every day, find beautiful spots and enjoy adventurous activities. But if somebody asks me if I have to choose only one activity and do the same every day I would prefer without a doubt a helicopter flight in Iceland.

Iceland from above is magnificent and I never get tired to be amazed. I am sure you have seen a lot of drone video of Iceland on Youtube, but neither 4K resolution picture, none most skilled drone pilot can give you that amazing feeling of fly and happiness to see that alien landscape from above.
Every selfie in a helicopter is the same:
My principle is The longer, the better. That's why I feel happy when customers ask to book helicopter flight from Reykjavik to Jökulsarlón Glacier Lagoon and back. This is one of longest flight provided by local helicopter companies.
This helicopter tour takes 6-7 hours totally with 3 landings. Of course, landing spots always depend on weather and it is always up to the pilot. He is the boss. But if the weather is great you will land on the wildest and most beautiful spots of South Iceland.
Our pilot Haukur (literally means Hawk) doing his job perfectly:
During this flight, you will see from above: Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir, Háifoss waterfall, Landmannalaugar, Skaftafell National Park, Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, Black sand beaches, Mýrdalsjökull glacier, Eyjafjallajökull glacier and many other beautiful spots in Icelandic Highlands.
Last time I joined such flight we landed on the top of Hekla volcano, somewhere in the wilderness near the edge of the glacier and just in front of Fjallasarlón — less known than Jökulsarlón but simply stunning glacier lagoon. 4th landing is for lunch of course.
I just want you to show the pictures I did on my phone during this flight. Sun was shining, visibility was great and everybody came back to Reykjavik happy.
I highly recommend you to join any helicopter flight that fits you, 30 minutes, 2 hours, the whole day, it doesn't matter. Just prepare to be amazed from the very first minute of the flight.

I highly recommend you to do the same. Take the helicopter tour in Iceland, leaving your camera in a pocket and enjoy the flight.
Have a nice flight!
