Our family of three rode to the top on the cat. The views were great, and the service was great. The guide/owner and his 9 year old son met us and off we went. Felt super safe and stayed mostly warm the entire time. We are not the most adventurous people, so this was a perfect balance. Thank you

Grandios und unvergesslich, sicherlich nicht nur für Fans von Jules Verne. Dazu ideale Wetterbedingungen und ein freundlicher, kompetenter und entspannter Guide! Absolute Empfehlung! Vielen Dank!

We had a small group (just 4 of us) in the morning and I really wasn't sure what to expect, but it was nice that we had a small group with us and the weather wasn't too bad. We met up with our driver easily as it was walkable from where we were staying in Arnarstapi and I'm glad we did take the bus rather than driving ourselves as it's a F-road going up. And he drove the 4 of us to the snowcat and took us to the top from there. At first I was a little worried as it was cloudy that day, but when the snowcat reached to the top and over the clouds, we were welcomed to a magnificent (and sunny) view where it looked like we were on top of the world since we were above the clouds. There was really only 1 stop on this trip and they gave us plenty of time to walk around the mostly untouched snow and climb on what's left of the glacier. And one of the things that we found fun to do was hike up to the top of the hill and slide down. With only 4 of us there, we were able to get lucky with some amazing photos and really soak in the tranquility. This is more of a chill tour where kids or seniors can enjoy as there's not really any hiking here and you just explore the area like a playground. I can imagine your mileage may vary depending on weather, but that really goes with many things you do in Iceland as the guide said it could get very windy on top or cloud coverage could be worse where you wouldn't see much, so I cross my fingers for you on what your experience might end up like. I think we were up there for about 45 mins which was shorter than the usual tour since we had so little people. We got back on to the snowcat and was heading back down until our guide made a quick detour to try to get a view of the glacier crevices on the side since we had extra time, but the view quickly got covered by the clouds once we got there. This tour will not be for everyone, if you're looking for more adventurous tour then this won't be for you. But I would recommend this for families or photographers as long as the weather cooperates with you. My gf and I were expecting more hiking to be done with this, but we were pretty happy with the views we got especially when our group was so small. So in the end, it was better than we initially thought and I'm glad we did this as we got a unique view of Iceland that we never saw elsewhere on our Ring Road journey.

We had an incredible experience on this tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the glacier itself and although the weather wasn’t great, he chased down better views around different parts of the glacier. My boys and I had so much fun playing in the snow and taking in the amazing scenery. I definitely recommend adding it to your Iceland travel list!!
