Special Tours Wildlife Adventures

Wunderbare Tour, wir hatten Glück und haben auch einen Wal gesehen, auch Delfine und Pappageientaucher waren dabei! Man muss sich bewusst sein, das es nicht selbstverständlich ist, weil es immer noch wilde Tiere sind die zuerst gesucht werden müssen, darum waren wir sehr froh, dass alles so wunderbar geklappt hat. Es war toll, würden wir gerne wieder machen.

Amazing experience we had in the best way the circumstances could combine - light wind, calm ocean, sunny weather with temperatures around 9 degrees Celsius. Plus the speed boat ride and the luck to spot dolphines, humpback whales, puffins and to be quite close to them. The organisation of Katla tours is perfect, every detail is perfect - the overall clothing and gloves, the comfort of the boat seat, the info provided by the guide about the biology of the species. I would not hesitate to repeat this and strongly recommend it to all animal and adventure lovers.

We did this tour on our first full day in Reykjavik and it was a really nice quick little tour. The staff on the boat and in the booking in office were really friendly and professional. There were boat sickness tablets free in a little basket at the front desk in case you needed one. On the way out to see the Puffins the guide gave us some fun facts and information about Puffins and while we were observing them, the Guide also pointed out and told us about the other birds that we were seeing which I liked.

We booked this tour for the first day of our trip to Iceland as a 'classic' trip to do in Iceland, while not being overly taxing physically. Unfortunately the weather was not suitable so the tour couldn't go ahead. The tour operator contacted us to let us know and thankfully we had left a few 'dead spaces' in itenarary so we could take them up on rearranging for another day and time. The same thing happened again ha ha! Third time was thankfully the charm and the weather behaved enough the tour could go ahead. The staff at the checking in office and on the boat were really nice and were professional. The boat was well maintained and we were lucky enough that we got to see a juvenile Minke Whale, an adult Minke Whale and a Hump back Whale that jumped out of the water! (possibly just to show up the guide who had earlier warned this was very rare and shouldn't be expected.)
