Varmahlid is a small village by Highway Route 1 in Skagafjordur. It is a popular nesting place and resort.

Varmahlid features a hotel, a restaurant, a tourist information center, a shop with tourist service and a natural history museum, in addition to a school and a social center. Forest planting has been considerate as evidenced by Reykjaholsskogur forest.
