RuPaul's Drag Race in Reykjavík!
RuPaul's Drag Race is an American reality competition TV series that is having a show in Iceland TONIGHT!
In 2014, TV Guide Magazine ranked the series as one of its 20 best television series picks of the year.
My facebook feed has pretty much been filled with information about this show, as my friends are super excited to go and witness this in Gamla Bíó at 11pm tonight. (I'm sadly in London so I'll miss out). You can still get tickets to RuPaul's Drag Race here for 6500 ISK or a VIP ticket for 8900 ISK (then you get to meet the queens before the show, show up at 9pm).
Tonight's performance is hosted by Michelle Visage and features Adore Delano, Alaska 5000, Ivy Winters, Jinkx Monsoon, Pandora Boxx and Sharon Needles.
So if you're in Reykjavík, need some entertainment (in English), then glam up and go watch some ladies lip sync for their lives!
If you want to know more about the TV show itself, then Wikipedia has a very comprehensive description of the show and all of its 7 series. Needless to say, there are lots of crazy outfits, celebrity judges/appearances (such as Juliette Lewis and Kathy Griffin), great puns, fabulous make-up and diva drama! I just recommend watching a clip, although I warn you, it can get highly addictive!
