From the airport pickup to drop off, we have nothing but positive things to say.
This is a new and smaller company formed by two brothers, so like Jerry Miguire they are really focused on each customer. On the way to the car, we got tips about how to navigate Iceland as first timers, and a little history about what life is like growin gup there. After a speedy checkout we on our way is a pristine vehicle, with a local number and a whatsapp to contact at anytime if there were issues.
We took this little Romanian beast all around the island, riding roads just short of river crossings with no issue at all. My biggest complaint is that it has trouble holding 4th gear going up an incline into the wind.
As Americans our credit cards wouldn't work on the pump so we had to run inside (debit cards with a pin do work fwiw), and it cost about 10000kr to fill up.
The other thing to note is the car has a speed limiter, not a cruise control, and the activation switch is in the middle console below the shifter. This turned out to be great since Iceland has such draconian speed fines, it would mean we could focus on the amazing scenery as we rolled down the idyllic roads.
The handling on gravel was responsive, but the car feels light, more like a Suzuki Samari than a Hummer. Imperfections in the road are felt and absorbed rather than crushed. We encountered 20-30km/hr winds are one point and while you felt it, driving was still easy. Similar experience in torrential down pours (even on gravel roads).
When we came to return the car I realized I had made a mistake. I thought I booked the car for a day longer than I had, so I explained my error, fully ready to take the hit, but they were understanding and didnt charge me for the extra day.
Needless to say, really great customer service with great car. I found my rental agency while in Iceland for now on.
