The Volcano House was established in 2011 in the wake of worldwide coverage of the Eyjafjallajökull eruption. Since then it has fulfilled its role as a public educator on these amazing phenomena, portraying the overpowering forces of nature in a gallery like fashion.
The location could not be better as we are right in the city centre and across the road is Reykjavik's charming Old Harbour where bountiful seafood restaurants and whale watching tours depart from. Nearby are some of Reykjavik's most interesting sights and museums, making it the perfect fit as part of the Reykjavík sightseeing experience.
The exhibition is free, and the show runs every hour from 10 AM to 9 PM, so drop in anytime to witness the wonders of volcanoes.
