A MUST DO! Whenever people ask me to tell them something interesting that I did, I would tell them I snorkeled between the American and Eurasian tectonic plates in Iceland. The guides were very helpful throughout the tour. My guide was called Martin, he clearly had a deep understanding of the fissure and he was funny. Waters were crystal blue. At one of the fissures we could see 50M down. We were recommended to wear a warm base layer, specifically wool and not cotton. We wore two layers of suits, the outer one being the dry suit, as well as gloves and headgear. The only part that was exposed was our faces. We were given time at the end to explore other fissures at the end at our own pace. I do recommend to have the neck and headgear be tightened more even if it's slightly uncomfortable, as some people who opted to loosen them for comfort had issues with water seeping in - something you wouldn't want to experience in 2C water! Afterwards we were given free snacks and hot chocolate, a perfect way to end such a trip. Overall an UNFORGETTABLE, SURREAL and EXHILARATING experience. This area should be on the 7 wonders of the world!

South Coast Minibus Tour with Glacier Hike – A Cinematic Icelandic Adventure! Our journey with Tröll Expeditions on the South Coast Minibus Tour was absolutely brilliant. From epic waterfalls to black sand beaches and an unforgettable glacier hike, it felt like we were stepping right into a movie. First up was Seljalandsfoss. Walking behind this massive 60-meter waterfall was something else. Despite the cold and wind, the adrenaline kicked in and we just went for it. We got soaked, but it was worth every second. Then we moved on to Skógafoss, which was just pure power. Even from a distance, it was stunning. The guide mentioned it’s been featured in Game of Thrones and Thor: The Dark World, which made it even more interesting to see up close. Reynisfjara black sand beach was honestly breathtaking. The contrast between the pitch-black sand and the crashing waves was unreal. The basalt columns are impressive too. Just a word of caution—don’t get too close to the water. The waves are unpredictable and the backpull can really catch you off guard. It’s easy to see why this place turned up as Eastwatch-by-the-Sea in Game of Thrones. The glacier hike on Sólheimajökull was an absolute highlight. We met up at the bus camp where they kitted us out with harnesses, crampons, helmets, and ice axes (though the axe is just there for emergencies). The crampons made walking on the ice way easier. Our guide Maria was fantastic. My wife was a bit nervous about the hike, but Maria stuck with her the whole time, chatting away and making sure she felt safe. You couldn’t ask for a better guide—Maria just knew how to keep everyone calm and confident. Gylfi, our driver, was great too. Proper dry sense of humor, lots of interesting stories at each stop, and a Wi-Fi password on the bus that I’m pretty sure he made up just to mess with us. Worth asking him to spell it out! We had lunch at the black sand beach, and I went for the lamb chops. They’re definitely the priciest thing on the menu, but honestly, they’re worth it. If you’re a gamer, the landscapes will feel pretty familiar—like you’ve wandered straight into Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding. The stark, rugged scenery feels straight out of the game, though thankfully you’re not carrying a stack of crates on your back. If you’re looking for a tour that shows off Iceland’s most stunning spots with a bit of movie magic thrown in, this is the one. The guides are top-notch and the sights are just incredible. Definitely one to put on your list.

Tour war super getimed, die Fahrten haben sich nie zu lange angefühlt, die Stops waren weder zu kurz noch zu lang. Gute Auswahl an Sehenswürdigkeiten. Unser Guide Cora war sehr nett, hilfsbereit und witzig, und hat Interessante Infos gegeben, auch während der Fahrt. Würde ich jedem empfehlen, der auf einen Tag einen Überblick über die Halbinsel gewinnen will.
