This relatively lesser-known waterfall is characterized by its height and peaceful surroundings, which make it an excellent spot for those seeking a quieter experience away from the more popular tourist sites.

Because of its off-the-beaten-track location, Gljufursarfoss waterfall is a great place to visit during a self-drive tour of Iceland. This one-week summer self-drive tour of the Ring Road and seven-day self-drive tour of the complete Ring Road are examples of itineraries that provide opportunities to visit the Gljufursarfoss waterfall when you’re in Northeast Iceland. It can also be explored by those who choose to rent a car during their trip to Iceland.
