Northern lights visible again, but where to go?

Finally they are visible again, this wonder of the sky, I am talking about the northern lights, also known as the Aurora Borealis. People often ask me where to go to see the lights. My answer is "out of the light pollution", but you dont have to go very far away from the light pollution as these pictures show. The northern lights are only visible during the dark of the nigh

Off the Beaten Path

Among the things Iceland has to offer are glorious landscapes that will leave you in awe. The most popular places aren´t popular just because, they are popular for a reason and the reason is great accessibility and of course unbeatable beauty. But from the photographers point of view, photographing places crowded with people in broad harsh daylight is not always first choice. Iceland has to offer many gorgeous places off the beaten path but still easily accessible for the landscape photographer. Many gems are yet to be discovered, and when we find them we would also like to keep them a bi

Advice for Photography in Iceland

Patience is essential when it comes to photography, while out shooting one is always waiting for the right moment. On my recent trip on the south coast I visited a fabulous canyon named "Fjaðrárgljúfur", which would translate directly to "Feather-River-Gorge" since it looks lika a feather from a flying bird's point of view. As my trip was an A to A trip, I decided to visit numerous places twice though the weather forecast was similar for both days. I´ve lived here long enough to know that the weather changes rather quickly here and you can hardly bet on the forecast. At least I wouldn´t.
