ATV tours in Grindavík just 5 min from the Blue Lagoon
This is my first blog here and I'm gonna start by blogging and recommending the ATV tours in Grindavík (south Iceland), I'm a guide there so I know that this is me advertising the company I work for but I think that says a lot about the confidence I have in recommending it, and since I'm a guide there I can pretty much promise you great fun and guarantee it personally, that's why I'm choosing to make my first blog about this cause it's something I know everything about.
So you can choose many different tours depending on what you want, we have 1 hour, 2 hour, three - four hour, and then the whole day tour.
The one hour tour - Panorama
This tour is probably the most popular one because a lot of people just want to have a quick try on the ATV's and get some photos, this tour is in my experience a lot more then people expect, in the beginning we drive past a shipwreck which is in two parts and the parts are 800 meters away from each other.
,
This is the first part of the boat you will see on the tour,
and this is the second part, 800 meters away.
Then later in the tour I will go to a view point where you have great views all around you which is why it's called panorama.
The Two Hour Tour - The Lava Beach
This one is also popular and never disappoints, it takes you for a wild ride and suddenly you find yourself standing in the black sand with all the volcanic lava around you, just unbelievable place! It's called Selatangar and actually has a good story cause there was a fishing work camp there in the late eighteen hundreds and there are a lot of "houses" from that time still there for you to look at.
This is an example of what you can see over there.
This is the Lava Beach.
The Three Hour Tour - Trip to the Moon
This is the Tour that I would recommend for everyone, you can take this tour even though you haven't tried ATV's before but if you're not too confident then I would recommend the one or two hour....or just be a passenger, also an option is to be a passenger in a buggy car or drive one yourself.
This tour is my personal favorite and it takes you to the Reykjanes Peninsula where the Scenery is beyond awesome! You will go to the hot spring Gunnuhver
and the continental river
the Reykjanes lighthouse which is the oldest of it's kind in Iceland
We offer pickups from the blue lagoon everyday at 10:00, 12:00 , 14:00 and 17:00 we also offer pick ups from your hotel, we provide overalls such as jumpsuits, dry suits (if needed), water proof shoes, gloves, ski masks and of course helmets.
I hope you find this interesting and I look forward hearing from you, if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask me!
Kind regards,
Andri Snær Ágústsson
