Melrakki Adventures

The tour started early so we managed to be the first group arrived the cave! The guide was very friendly, nice and knowledgable. She shared so much information about the ice formation, the background of the cave, etc. She also took many amazing photos at each spot for us. The ice cave itself is amazing. Definitely a must-do in Iceland! And strongly recommend to book this tour!

這次參加的是8個人的小團，品質很好，我很喜歡，而且我們的導遊開車技術很好，帶我們到更接近冰川的地方，省下我們不少時間和體力，她也很用心的向我們解說有關冰川和火山的一些知識，很抱歉我的英文不是很好，所以大概只聽懂一半，但還是很謝謝她，親切、活潑又厲害，謝謝她在冰島帶給我們難忘的回憶和體驗^^

We had an amazing tour. There were some hiccups in the beginning, but the owner quickly resolved the issue. We had an awesome and exceptional tour guide - Andrea!! She’s so professional, passionate, cheerful, and go above and beyond leaving us a forever memorable experience on the glacier on my mom’s birthday!! I would highly recommend this tour company. 1) They offer small group (max 8) per tour. 2) They take you right to the base of the glacier (skipping the 30 minutes walk from the parking lot).

What an extraordinary tour. This was truly a once in a lifetime adventure. We met our guide Antoine at the Jökusarlon Glacier Lagoon parking lot. Then we took about a 15 minute drive in his Land Cruiser to the beginning of the glacier hike. Seatbelt required as it’s really off-roading. Antoine has an infectious enthusiasm for the landscape, and is incredibly knowledgable about glaciers, geology, and Iceland in general. The hike was moderate and interesting on the way to the cave, and Antoine took time to show us details along the way including mineral deposits in rocks, frozen, waterfalls, and caves on the mountains surrounding us. Leaving as early as we did, 8:45 AM, seemed like a smart way to avoid a bottleneck in the ice cave. When we arrived at the cave, Antoine timed our entrance beautifully so that we had a great deal of time (mostly) alone before the bigger groups arrived. Admittedly, we did have to share the cave with a bride and groom in their full wedding regalia, having their photographs taken, but that was a whole different level of charm. Antoine happily took many photos of us throughout the cave. The cave itself is pure magic. It’s a fool‘s errand to try to put it into words. You have to experience it for yourself. When we exited the cave, the snow fell around us for our hike back to the Land Cruiser and our significantly bumpy yet fun off-road ride back to our vehicle. I can’t stress enough how great this tour and Antoine are and how much it felt created by people who love what they do and sharing it with fellow travellers. We highly recommend doing this extra small group tour. Thanks to Melrakki Adventures for an unforgettable experience!
