Your electronic voucher, which will be sent to your email upon booking, contains all the relevant details for your trip.
Please bear in mind that the best services with the most competitive prices and highest ratings get fully booked quickly in Iceland. Completing your booking will ensure the best availability and pricing for your trip.

Cancellation of Day Tours, Bundle Discount Deals, Multi-Day Tours, and Car Rentals
You can cancel your booking with Guide to Iceland up to 24 hours before departure and receive a full refund. To request a cancellation, please contact us via email at info@guidetoiceland.is or through our live chat on the website.
In case of partial cancellations, such as an activity portion of a multi-day tour getting canceled by the operator, or a tour layout being changed due to weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances, a partial refund is due. If an activity is changed, the price difference between activities will be refunded, or a percentage stated by the tour operator as the standard refund due to changes in the program of the tour.
Cancellation of All-In-One Self-drives Tours and Holiday Packages Arranged by Guide to Iceland
You can cancel your All-In-One Self-Drive or Holiday Package arranged by Guide to Iceland up to 24 hours before the tour departure. No refund is issued if there are less than 24 hours to the start of your vacation package.
It is not possible to cancel individual services within a package within 24 hours of the tour starting date. Please note that this includes reducing the number of participants within a self-drive tour or a package.
In cases where an All-In-One Self Drive or a Holiday Package is disrupted due to official road closures or an Act of God, Guide to Iceland will reroute and/or rearrange to the best of our abilities and assist with cancellations, making partial and full refunds when applicable.
Cancellation of Accommodation Bookings
The cancellation policy of your accommodation booking is dependent on your selected pricing option during the booking process. You can find the detailed cancellation policy during the booking process and in your email voucher.
To cancel your accommodation booking, please contact us via email at info@guidetoiceland.is with your booking number and cancellation request, or reach out to us through our live chat.
Please note that if your accommodation booking is part of an All-In-One Self Drive or Holiday Package serviced by Guide to Iceland, you will not be able to cancel it individually.
Cancellation of Flights
If flights are a part of a tour, standard tour cancellation terms apply.
If your flight is arranged independently and is not part of an existing product, specific terms and conditions will apply. These terms will be clearly communicated and agreed upon prior to booking. Please note that flights arranged independently are generally non-refundable unless additional travel insurance has been purchased during the initial booking process.
Cancellations due to Weather Conditions
If your tour is canceled by the tour provider due to weather conditions or other environmental circumstances, you will receive a full refund. This does not apply to rescheduled attempts for tours that have already been partially serviced or completed as a first departure.
In the event of a volcanic eruption on Icelandic soil that prevents you from traveling to Iceland, you will also receive a full refund for all products booked through Guide to Iceland. However, this does not apply if you decide not to visit due to an eruption, as volcanic activity in Iceland is relatively common and typically occurs far from populated or travel-relevant areas.
How to Cancel or Change a Booking
All cancellations and booking modifications must be made by contacting us via email at info@guidetoiceland.is or through our live chat on the website. If you are unable to modify or cancel your booking despite having sufficient advance notice, please reach out to our team directly for assistance. Refund requests for past services must be submitted within 15 days after the completion of the tour or package. To request a refund, please email booking@guidetoiceland.is with the subject line: Refund Request - [Order Number]. We do not charge any fees for modifying day tours, multi-day tours, or car rental bookings as long as the request is made with at least 24 hours' notice; however, additional costs may apply depending on changes to the booking details. Please note that while we always do our best to assist, rearrangements are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.
For All-In-One Self-Drive Tours and Holiday Packages arranged by Guide to Iceland, please contact your travel agent via email or live chat. We do not charge a service fee for making changes to these packages, but any modifications may result in additional costs, such as updated hotel rates, car rental fees, or changes to included activities. Any additional costs or refunds will be communicated to you, and we will seek your approval before finalizing the changes. You will either be billed for the price difference or refunded any balance. Significant rebooking or itinerary restructuring may incur a service fee of 15% of the total tour price. Please note that reducing the number of participants in a booking is considered a cancellation for the removed participants. For further details, please refer to our Terms and Conditions.
Terms for Accommodation in All-In-One Holiday Packages and Self-Drives Booked with Guide to Iceland
If you are booking an All-In-One Holiday Package or Self-Drive Tour with Guide to Iceland, you will now select the specific hotels and room types during the booking process.
Accommodation for children and teens will be arranged so that they lodge with their guardians, either in a baby cot or on an additional bed in the room, as specified during the booking process. If the number of children or teens exceeds the number of accompanying adults, the additional children/teens will be charged at full adult prices.
Should you wish to make changes to your selected accommodation after completing the booking, please contact us via email or live chat, and we will assist you. Additional charges may apply depending on the changes requested.
Car rental terms
All drivers must be a minimum of 20 years of age and have had a driver’s license for at least one year. For certain vehicles, the minimum age might be 23 or higher. It is the responsibility of the client to understand and honor the driver's minimum age. Please note that rentals are not obliged to honor a rental should the driver not meet the age requirements.
Upon receiving the rental vehicle, a valid driver's license in the Latin alphabet and a credit card must be presented. You will be asked to sign a contract with the car rental. We advise you to read this contract carefully and make sure that you are aware of the different insurances that you choose, what you are insured for, self-risk, and more.
Please note that a security deposit from a valid credit card of the driver might be required upon pick up. The amount may vary depending on the car rental and the car model. Please contact the rental agency directly for further information. Upon return of the car, the deposit will be returned to you, provided the conditions of the car are the same as when picked up.
Please note that the car rental agreement will be between the renter and the car rental agency, and any disputes regarding damages, etc. will need to be resolved between the two parties. Guide to Iceland cannot be liable for what you have agreed upon with the car rental company.
Guide to Iceland cannot be liable to any losses, damages, injuries, accidents, death, or sickness during your stay in Iceland. All matters related to damages to the car are dealt with directly by the car rental. If you have any complaints about one of our car rental partners please send us an email at info@guidetoiceland.is and we will help you protect your rights.
Pickups
During the booking process, you will be able to choose a pickup location and time. If you do not show up at the scheduled pickup time and location stated on your booking, your reservation will be non-refundable.
If you do not know your pickup location at the time of booking, you can update it later, up to 24 hours before departure, by contacting Guide to Iceland via email, live chat, or the tour provider directly. Please call the number listed on your voucher if you do not receive confirmation of your updated pickup location.
Terms of payment
For your convenience, product prices on our website can be displayed in multiple currencies. If you choose to pay with Visa or Mastercard, we can charge you in the displayed currency of your choice. However, if you opt for alternative payment methods other than Visa or Mastercard, payments can only be processed in USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, CHF, DKK, JPY, NOK, NZD, or SEK, depending on the selected payment method. All refunds will be issued in the same currency used at the time of booking, with no additional fees applied. Please note that it may take your bank 10–14 business days to process the refund.
Guide to Iceland does not charge any booking or transaction fees when paying with traditional credit cards, such as Visa or Mastercard. However, if you choose alternative payment methods like Amex or PayPal, transaction fees may apply. These fees will be clearly listed in the cart before checkout. We are not liable for any losses due to currency exchange during transactions, nor for any third-party transaction fees that may arise during payment or refund processing.
When booking online, the full payment will be charged to your credit card. For group bookings and packages involving more than 15 people, you can contact us via email to arrange a 15% down payment. Once the down payment has been made, we will begin reserving your trip to secure the best available price. The remaining balance must be paid 30 days before your arrival.
If your total reservation exceeds 300,000 ISK, you may request to split the payment into two installments: a 50% deposit at the time of booking and the remaining 50% one month before your arrival. If the final payment is not received by the due date, your booking will be canceled, and your deposit will be fully refunded.

Best Price Guarantee
At Guide to Iceland, we offer the Best Price Guarantee on our products. It ensures that you will get the lowest price of the product you purchase on Guide to Iceland. Should you find a lower price of the exact same product elsewhere, you can contact us and get a refund for the price difference.
Please note that our Best Price Guarantee only applies to the exact same product, meaning that the product is from the same service provider. If there are more than one service provider offering products of a similar nature, such as a tour with the same itinerary, or a rental car of the same model, products from different providers are not considered the same product and will not be price matched.
Package Travel Directive
Guide to Iceland operates in compliance with the EU Package Travel Directive. If the European Union and Icelandic laws define your purchase as a "package," it therefore falls under the comprehensive EU consumer protection. All payments towards these tours are safeguarded with insurance protection that guarantees you a refund in the unlikely event of insolvency.
All vacation packages and self-drive tours purchased through Guide to Iceland are insured under the license of Travelshift ehf. For other multiday tours, the insurance is provided by the respective companies that hold valid licenses to sell and operate multiday tours and packages. The name of the provider and the insurance holder will be clearly listed on your voucher once the tour has been purchased. If you wish to receive this information prior to booking, please contact our service team for further details.
General Terms
Guide to Iceland cannot be liable to any losses, damages, accidents, injuries, death, or sickness during your trip. The same applies to any changes in trip schedule due to weather, strikes, or any other force majeure. Service providers reserve the right to change routes, schedules, and itineraries if needed because of weather, road conditions or should the necessity arise because of unforeseen reasons or circumstances.
We advise all travelers to purchase comprehensive travel insurance to minimize possible losses due to unforeseeable situations during their travel. Guide to Iceland does not offer any travel insurance, so please contact your preferred private travel insurance company.
