Hi! I'm Aldís. Amah. An Icelandic/American girl with a very mixed heritage. Raised in the west side of Reykjavík I know the place like the back of my hand (just don't try me on the street names, terrible with 'em) and I couldn't have asked to spend my childhood in a better place. I'd love to show you just how great it is!
A writer for this site, integral in its shaping, as well as an avid traveler and a Reykjavik local, I have a fair knowledge of the country and traveling. Good in languages, have a BA in English. Other interests: Music, films, coffee houses, swimming, politics, health and humanitarian issues, folklore, anthropology, arts, poetry, culture, nature, hiking, history etc. I would be happy to direct you to good tours and recommend cool stuff. The opinions that I express on my blog are solely my own.
Hi there, I'm Lyonel, a Northern Lights Hunter and a Ma Student in Folkloristics. I have the pleasure of being a professional Northern Lights hunter with experience both in Iceland and in North Norway where I am now based. Don't hesitate to drop me a line if you want to have some tips on the matter or discuss anything Icelandic/Nordic related
My name is Sigrun Guttormsdóttir Þormar.I live inBorgarfjord west Iceland, where Iwork as a project leader at the cultural medieval center Snorrastofa in Reykholt. For those that don't know, Reykholt was the home of Snorri Sturluson, medieval writer and poet whom lived in Reykholt from 1206 to 1241. He was the author of the Edda, Heimskringla( History of the kings of Norway) and Egils Saga Skallagrimson. For me Snorri is the most amazing employer whom I proudly serveand constantly present in my every day life!!! He is absolutly still going strong at 835 years of age. Please come and visit us atwww.snorrastofa.isWe are open all weekdays during the winter and all days during summer. We have an exhibition about Snorri Sturluson and offer lectures for groups.Hope to see you soon :)
Even though I'm 100% Icelandic, from 101 Reykjavík (what locals call a 'downtown rat'), I've lived around the world, in Brazil, Spain, Norway, Argentina, England and Estonia - and besides Icelandic I speak English, Portuguese, Spanish and Norwegian. I currently live in London. But ultimately I'm Icelandic and even though I keep traveling away from Iceland - I also keep coming back! And after living abroad I can fully appreciate all the good things at home – I like playing the tourist and enjoy the nature and the ‘secret’ locations. Iceland is full of them.

I’m Alda, an Icelandic-North American hybrid and the author of several books about Iceland. I have written extensively about Iceland’s social and political situation on my own personal blog and for the international media, including The Guardian, Slate Magazine, The Huffington Post and the Associated Press. My latest book is called The Little Book of the Icelanders in the Old Days - a sequel to the best-selling The Little Book of the Icelanders, published in 2012. In June and July I will be travelling around Iceland to distribute the new book, and will be live blogging the journey, as well as posting regular pictures and updates to my own Facebook page, Twitter and Instagram. I hope you will join me as I meet some lovely people, visit some of my favourite places and share useful tips along the way. It’s going to be great!

I love to share my experience with others and advice people that are planning a visit to Iceland. I have experience doing photo day tours with small group of people to places as Snæfellsnes peninsula, Reykjanes peninsula, the south coast of Iceland and the Golden circle. Im also willing to offer you a tailor made tour of your choice. If you want some great tips about travelling or photographing in those areas or join me on a photo tour please send me a line.
Hi, my name is Regína and I was born and raised here in Iceland, in the capital city Reykjavík. I love travelling around Iceland, it is a big passion of mine. You can write to me in English, German, Danish, Norwegian and Serbian, but I will write back in English.
Viel spass in Island :)
