Laugarás Lagoon was a perfect first-day stop after landing at Keflavík Airport early in the morning. We landed around 6:20 a.m., picked up our rental car, stopped by a bakery, drove out to the lighthouse on the Reykjanes Peninsula, and then headed straight to the lagoon for our 12 p.m. reservation. The timing worked really well. The facilities felt very new, clean, and lovely. The pool was great because there were lots of little areas where you could find a quieter spot, plus beautiful views, a secluded hot tub, a cold plunge, and a steam room. It felt peaceful and much less crowded than the more typical geothermal baths closer to the airport. Overall, it was exactly what we needed after an overnight flight, and it fit perfectly before continuing on to the Golden Circle and staying in Selfoss for the night.
