Seljalandsfoss waterfall is a popular stopping point along the South Coast of Iceland given its aesthetic beauty and proximity to Road 1.
Dyrhólaey rock arch is just one example of the strange yet stunning rock formations that have, over many centuries, come to define the South Coast of Iceland.
Dyrhólaey boasts mesmerizing and panoramic views of the South Coast's rugged shorelines.
The basalt stacks at Reynisfjara provide an incredible example of the peculiar effects that nature's influence can have over many centuries.
Puffins are known to nest in the towering cliff faces of South Iceland, making for another authentically Icelandic sight during the tour.
Skógafoss is one of the biggest waterfalls in Iceland, producing large amounts of spray that will routinely cause rainbows to form.

Enjoy the splendours of Icelands South Coast with this fantastic, privately-guided sightseeing tour exploring waterfalls, black sand beaches and incredible rock formations. This tour is perfect for those visitors looking to see Iceland's major southern attractions, but are hoping to skip out on larger tour groups.

Your day's adventure will begin by being picked up from your accommodation in Reykjavík, then whisked southward along Road 1 (The Ring Road) on your way to the first destination, Seljalandsfoss. This narrow, 60-metre high feature is a rare example of an Icelandic waterfall that can be walked behind. This multitude of perspectives truly makes Seljalandsfoss one of the most exciting attractions on the South Coast.

A little further up the road, you will stumble across one of Iceland's larger waterfalls, Skógafoss. This domineering curtain of cascading water creates some real drama; visitors to this attraction can walk right up to the point where the water smashes into the rock pool below, offering up the chance for some epic photos.

After both waterfalls have been fully appreciated, you will head to the Þorvaldseyri Volcano Museum, "Eyjafjallajökull Erupts", where you will gain a real insight into Iceland's violent geological history, as well as the likelihood and impact of any future eruptions.

After that, you will make a stop by the small peninsula, Dyrhólaey. The view from Dyrhólaey is captivating: to the north, one can see the mighty Mýrdalsjökull glacier, whilst to the east, the black lava columns of the Reynisdrangar protrude from the sea.

On the way back, you will visit the famed black-sand beach, Reynisfjara, known for its dark sand, dangerous undercurrents and fascinating basalt columns, naturally formed in the hillside to create what resembles a strange and fantastical fortress. When your time at the beach is over, you will make the return journey back to your accommodation in the city.
