This location puts those staying here close to major attractions of the two most popular sightseeing routes in the country, the Golden Circle and the South Coast. The former is home to Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss waterfall, and the explosive Geysir Geothermal Area, all of which can be reached in less than an hour.
The latter, meanwhile, is home to a parade of magnificent natural sites, including Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss, a pair of beautiful waterfalls; the glacier tongues of Myrdalsjokull and Vatnajokull; the black sand beach of Reynisfjara; and the Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon. The closest of these, Seljalandsfoss, is just 40 minutes away.
