Jadar Farm has an excellent location in Baer, a settlement in West Iceland. It’s close to some of Iceland’s incredible natural attractions and provides easy access to the Ring Road, meaning guests can use the property as a base to explore popular sights in the area.

About 11 miles (18 kilometers) from Jadar Farm, you’ll find the village of Reykholt, where Snorri Sturluson, a medieval writer, lived. In Reykholt, you’ll find one of the oldest geothermal pools in the country, Snorralaug.

You can’t bathe in the Snorralaug hot pool, but there are plenty of opportunities for hot spring bathing near the villa. A swimming pool is less than 7 miles (about 11 kilometers) away. Alternatively, the Krauma geothermal spa and resort is only 9 miles (14 kilometers) from the house.

The Krauma spa has five hot tubs, two steam baths, a cold tub, and a relaxation room where you can warm up before a fireplace while soothing music plays in the background.

The spa is fed by the Deildartunguhver hot spring, the highest-flowing hot spring in Europe, which is also worth a visit while you’re in the area — it’s about 9 miles (15 kilometers) from the property.

There are also two waterfalls close to the farm. Hraunfossar is a series of falls approximately 24 miles (38 kilometers) from the house. Its neighbor, the Barnafoss waterfall, has a faster flow and dark folklore surrounding it.
