Location and Nearby
The Stundarfridur Cottages are seven miles (12 kilometers) south of Stykkisholmur, the largest town on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. This location places you very close to many major attractions of the region, nicknamed Iceland in Miniature due to its many various sites.
One of the most famous of these is the standalone mountain of Kirkjufell, which is 21 miles (34 kilometers) away. This feature is best known to Game of Thrones fans as ‘the Mountain Shaped Like an Arrowhead,’ but others have called it the ‘Pyramid Peak’ or ‘the Church Mountain.’
Ytri Tunga beach is another nearby site, only 29 miles (47 kilometers) to the south. There are three cottages available at Stundarfridur, designed for couples and small families. Cottage One accommodates five, with a double bed and space on the sofas in the living room for three. Cottages Two and Three have a similar setup but only room for four guests, as they have smaller couches.
All cabins are 269 square feet (25 square meters) and boast kitchenettes, private bathrooms with showers and hairdryers, high-speed WiFi, DVD players, flat-screen televisions, and coffee-making facilities. Their style is rustic and ambient, but the facilities are modern.
