17 km from the cottage is the Viking museum at Eiríkstaðir in Haukadalur. Here you get to step back to the Viking era and immerse yourself in the sights of the unique historical place. Close by is also the Settlement Museum in Laugar in Sælingsdalur, an interesting place to visit.
