The house was built in 1927 and renovated in 1982 to what it is now. It sits on Ytri-Vik farm, a beautiful and peaceful place located on the west side of Eyjafjord between Akureyri and Dalvik. It is in the proximity of the shoreline and sports an unobstructed glorious view across the fjord.

You can prepare your own meals in the kitchen which has all modern appliances like a refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine, toaster, kettle, freezer and a stove.
There are 7 bedrooms with two single beds in each. The dining room has seats for up to 25-30 people and a small cosy living room with a TV, DVD player, and a CD player. The three bathrooms come with a shower.

Many interesting hikes and other activities are within a short distance such as whale watching, sea angling, snowmobiling and more. Dalvik town is 14 km away and Akureyri only 20 km. In Dalvik, you will find good café/restaurants, supermarkets, a golf course, a swimming pool, grocery shops and other services you might require.
Towards late summer, you can enjoy picking berries in the farms. Some of the hiking options in the nearby are Mt. Kotlufjall which rises almost directly from the shores. A little further north is valley Thorvalsdsdalur which has moderate routes for young hikers. The most popular hiker’s paradise is a beautiful valley just 12 km north of Ytri-Vik.
