The Barn is less than ten minutes from Vik, a village halfway along the South Coast where you can find shops and traveler services. This position places it within easy driving distance of a range of incredible natural attractions. Most notably, Reynisfjara beach can be reached by car in five minutes or walked to in less than an hour.
Traveling east, you can drive to the glacier tongue of Solheimajokull and the waterfall of Skogafoss in less than half an hour and the waterfall of Seljalandsfoss in 45 minutes. Traveling west, you’ll find the valley of Fjadrargljufur Canyon in an hour, the Skaftafell Nature Reserve in two hours, and the incredible Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon in two and a half.
Because of its location on the Ring Road, the Barn can provide a great stopping point for those embarking on a slow-paced journey around the country.

The Barn has lodgings for all kinds of travelers. Family rooms with four bunk beds can accommodate larger groups, whereas double rooms are perfect for couples seeking privacy. Some of these rooms have mountain views. There are also dorm rooms for those looking for something more affordable, some of which have six beds and some of which have eight.
The bathrooms and kitchen are shared and fully furnished, styled beautifully in shades of black and white. Guests are also provided with a locker for safekeeping their essentials. Wifi and parking are free, and you’ll find both a tour desk and a modern bar in the communal areas.
