Travelling in the opposite direction, you can reach the glacier tongues and fairytale landscapes of the Skaftafell Nature Reserve in less than two hours, and just a little further down the road is the ‘crown jewel of Iceland’s nature', the Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon.
