Description

Journey into Iceland's most iconic scenic route before capping off your day with a rejuvenating geothermal bath in this private 10.5-hour Golden Circle tour. This unforgettable adventure takes travelers through the various attractions of the Golden Circle route before relaxing in the beautiful Laugarvatn Fontana Spa.

This private excursion starts early in the morning when a friendly, experienced driver-guide picks you up from your Reykjavik accommodation. You'll be riding a spacious and comfortable luxury van that will safely take you through the Golden Circle route and its different attractions.

Located around 30 miles (48 kilometers) from Reykjavik, Thingvellir National Park is rich in beauty and history. Named a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the park sits between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates.

As you explore Thingvellir, you'll see many fissures and cracks, including the famous Silfra fissure. The park is also historically significant, being the site of Iceland's first parliament, the Althing, established in 930 AD.

Your second stop is the mighty Gullfoss, one of Iceland's most celebrated waterfalls. Known as the "Golden Falls," Gullfoss features two cascades. It also has pathways that lead to different platforms where you can enjoy the waterfall in all its glory and the canyon below.

After enjoying the beauty of Gullfoss waterfall, you'll head to the Bru Horse Farm, where you'll meet some adorable Icelandic horses. Moreover, you'll get to feed them with special candies made for horses.

Next, your guide will take you to the Haukadalur valley, where you'll find the Geysir geothermal area. This site has several hot springs, bubbling mud pots, and steaming fumaroles, showing Iceland's raw geothermal power.

Strokkur geyser is the valley's highlight. Though smaller than the inactive Great Geysir, Strokkur erupts every 5 to 10 minutes. Feel the anticipation build as you and the other visitors wait for Strokkur to shoot up boiling water in the air as high as 115 feet (35 meters).

You'll then head to the Kerid crater lake, believed to be around 3,000 years old. This volcanic crater with an azure blue lake measures approximately 180 feet (55 meters) deep and 558 feet (170 meters) wide.

For lunch, you'll head to the Fridheimar Tomato Farm. Interestingly, the farm can grow tomatoes during winter because of geothermal energy. Get a taste of their signature offerings, like their tomato soup and tomato beer.

Before ending the day, you'll visit Laugarvatn Fontana Spa for some pampering. Laugarvatn Fontana is a geothermally heated spa on the beautiful black beach of Laugarvatn lake. It has three pools and a hot tub to relax your tired muscles and clear your mind.

After a full day of exploring and discovery, you'll ride your luxury van one last time as your guide takes you back to your hotel in Reykjavik.

Take advantage of this opportunity to see Iceland's most celebrated scenic route on this private 10.5-hour Golden Circle tour with a stop at the Laugarvatn Fontana Spa. Check availability now by choosing a date.
