Come along on this fun-filled sightseeing day tour sightseeing Icelandic attractions, including waterfalls, geothermal valleys and glaciers!
Most people visiting Iceland have heard about the Golden circle; Þingvellir national park, Geysir geothermal area and the Golden waterfall, Gullfoss. This is your opportunity to experience it in the most amazing way possible, by doing it in a Super Jeep and adding a stop at Langjökull glacier!
At the start of the day, you will be picked up by an expert Super Jeep driver, in a large, modified, mountain-ready vehicle. They will take you to Þingvellir National Park, where you can clearly see where the drift of the tectonic plates is helping the island grow, ever so slightly every year.
It is also a cherished historical site for the Icelandic people, as it is where the worlds' oldest parliament, Alþingi, was founded over 1000 years ago. Alþingi has since been moved to Reykjavík, the capital of the country.
Next stop will be at Geysir geothermal area, where geyser Strokkur can reach the height of around 25 meters, erupting every 10 minutes or so.
After Geysir, you will head out to Gullfoss waterfall, which is mostly known for intense beauty and power. The water in the falls comes from the river Hvítá, which is a glacier river stemming from Langjökull glacier. So you will not only get to witness the power of the glaciers in their solid form but also what they can transform into as liquid!
Now it is time to kick the action into a higher gear, to show you what the super jeeps are really about! Next destination is Iceland's second largest glacier; Langjökull. During summer months, you will attempt to drive on the ice of the glacier, hoping that the jeep can conquer nature! During winter months, it may be difficult to reach the glacier area, and your expert driver will really have to put the super jeep's special abilities to the test.
