Summary
Description
Ease into your seat for this bus tour of Iceland’s most unforgettable landscapes. You’ll see the three most popular sites in Iceland on the famous Golden Circle, along with two more! This tour is for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the unique volcanic scenery of Iceland, or for anyone who wishes to make the most of a short stay here.
You’ll be picked up in Reykjavík and taken down the beautiful south coast, full of eye-catching crags of black rock, fields of tall grass and grazing sheep. You’ll view the waterfalls and rivers, lava fields and velvety moss expanses that make Iceland unique.
Your first stop will be Kerið crater, a volcanic feature approximately 3,000 years old. Cupped in the bottom of the caldera, streaked with colours from mineral deposits in the rock, is a beautiful lake.
From the crater, you'll move on to the Golden Circle. First up is the Geysir geothermal area, most famous for the Great Geysir, a hot spring which has been active for more than 10,000 years. The oldest accounts of gushing hot springs here date back to 1294!
Nearby Strokkur is nothing but energy and excitement. Travellers come from all over the world in hopes of seeing an eruption, and Strokkur does not disappoint: Every 10 minutes, scalding water is flung as high as 40 m (131 ft) in a thrilling display. Don’t worry, you won’t get wet!
The delights continue at Gullfoss, a powerful waterfall on the Hvítá river. Propelled by a glacial runoff, the water crashes over the two-tiered fall and plummets into a deep canyon below.
Finally, is the beautiful Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site selected for its great contribution to world culture. Þingvellir is filled with geological features, and it is here where the Vikings convened at the world’s first parliament.
Don’t miss your chance to see these sites for yourself in the countryside of Iceland! Check the booking availability by choosing a date.
