Description

Explore one of the most fascinating towns in East Iceland and its various natural wonders on this three-hour scenic tour from Seydisfjordur. This three-hour adventure lets guests discover the beauty of the Eastfjords, led by hidden waterfalls, abandoned farms, and a breathtaking valley while riding an e-bike.

The first agenda for the day is meeting your friendly local guide in Seydisfjordur. The guide will give you a brief overview of the tour and the locations and attractions you’ll visit. They will also give you a helmet and an e-bike that you will use throughout the adventure.

If this is your first time riding an e-bike, you don’t need to worry, as the vehicle is fairly easy to use. The guide will also provide safety tips and reminders to help prevent accidents.

With all the safety gear in place, you’ll start riding the coast and proceed to some abandoned farms in Vestdalseyri. Though only ruins of the old houses remain, they’re technically not empty. You may find some sheep walking in and around the ruins.

As you go around Vestdalseyri, the guide will share stories about the town. They will give you a background on the history of the community that lived in Vestdalseyri during the 19th century. You’ll also enjoy some light snacks to energize you for the rest of the tour.

After exploring the abandoned farms, you’ll head to Vestdalsfossar for some captivating visual treats from nature. Translated as “west valley waterfalls” in Icelandic, the Vestdalsfossar waterfalls feature a series of cascades that tumble over the rocky cliffs.

Before reaching the first waterfall, you’ll be welcomed by breathtaking vistas over the fjord. The views change as you go further up. On the other hand, you’ll see the remains of old buildings when you look down on the beach below.

Upon reaching the first waterfall, you’ll notice two stunning cascades. Also, the lively greenery and the rugged terrain perfectly contrast the tumbling waters. Be sure to take lots of photos, as this area presents opportunities to capture striking images.

Continuing the e-bike ride, you’ll reach the second cascade called Arnarfossar. Similar to the first cascade, Arnarfossar gives majestic views of the fjords. However, the area is relatively flat and can be swampy, depending on the most recent rain volume.

After enjoying Arnarfossar and taking enough photos, you’ll head to Vestdalsfossar’s last waterfall. Upon reaching the area, you’ll find a rock lookout point where you can stand and enjoy the waterfall’s beautiful cascade.

Take advantage of this opportunity to enjoy the beauty of East Iceland on this 2.5-hour scenic e-bike tour of hidden waterfalls and fascinating landscapes from Seydisfjordur. Check availability now by choosing a date.
