On this private tour, you are booking a whole car that accommodates 4 passengers.
Join this incredible jeep excursion and visit Iceland's most popular tourist attractions all in one day. This is an excellent tour if you have only a short time in Iceland because it combines the two most popular tours, taking you to some of the country's grandest places while allowing you to enjoy all the comfort of a private tour.
In the morning you will be picked up from your accommodation, from where you will go along the beautiful Nesjavallaleið scenic route, enjoying spectacular views of mountains and volcano craters, as well as Iceland's largest natural lake, Þingvallavatn. (Nesjavallaleið is closed during the winter months and in case of severe weather conditions. If this is the case, we will go by a different road).
We will stop in Þingvellir National Park, where you can see the fissure created by the European and the North American tectonic plates drifting apart. The park was also a filming location for some scenes in the hit TV series Game of Thrones. You will have plenty of time to walk around and check out the beautiful Öxaráfoss waterfall.
From Þingvellir, you will continue to the famous Geysir hot spring area, where the Strokkur geyser erupts every 8-10 minutes. Experience the power of Icelandic nature as you walk around the area and take pictures of the hot springs.
Next up you'll head to Gullfoss, the golden waterfall, one of Iceland's most beautiful falls. After that, you will visit Faxi waterfall and the fantastic Secret Lagoon. This is the oldest natural pool in Iceland, situated in beautiful surroundings. (Entrance to the lagoon is optional. The entrance fee is 2800 ISK and is not included in this tour).
After a geothermal hot bath in the Secret Lagoon, we will be heading towards the Icelandic South Coast.
As we drive the famous Ring Road we will come close to one of Iceland's most active volcanoes, Hekla. There will be a quick lunch stop at Katla Restaurant in the Lava Centre, where you can observe the monitoring of active volcanic systems and earthquake activity in Iceland.
After lunch, we will visit two breathtaking waterfalls: Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss. Make sure you bring a raincoat as you will have a chance to walk behind the curtain of Seljalandsfoss and you will most assuredly get wet.
From the Ring Road, another Icelandic volcano is visible: the infamous Eyjafjallajokull, which erupted in 2010, affecting air traffic all over Europe.
Your next stop will be Sólheimajokull. Here you will walk to the edge of the glacier, so you can admire its spectacular blue, black and white ice.
We will then continue to Dyrhólaey and Reynisfjara to observe its black sand beaches, sea stacks, and basalt columns.
If you take this tour during the wintertime, you might catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights before heading back to Reykjavik.
If you want to enjoy some of Iceland's most famous locales but have limited time, then you should book this tour now. Check availability by choosing a date.
