This sightseeing tour in Iceland offers the flexibility of round-the-clock starting times. Whether you choose a morning or afternoon schedule, your adventure begins with a pick-up service from Reykjavik.
If you’re staying in the city, you can set your hotel as your starting point for more convenience. Alternatively, if you’re a cruise ship passenger docking in Reykjavik, you can set the harbor or cruise ship port as your pick-up and drop-off location.
For the next 11 hours, you’ll enjoy the company of a private tour guide and transportation. The guide will provide a personalized experience while sharing stories and excellent assistance.
The South Coast is easily one of the most beautiful and accessible regions in Iceland. It has breathtaking natural and cultural attractions that travelers with limited time can explore in a day.
Your first stop is the beautiful waterfall Seljalandsfoss. This unique cascade falls over a small cave, making it possible to encircle the torrent of water fully. However, you might get drenched if you do this, so make sure you bring waterproof clothing or rain gear.
Next up is another picturesque waterfall, Skogafoss. This one has a more classic shape as it falls 200 feet (60 meters), creating a great mist as it hits the rocks below. Due to the amount of spray the cascade produces, a rainbow is continuously present on sunny days.
You will then travel through the black desert of Solheimasandur on your way to the charming village of Vik. This little town is situated right on the edge of Iceland’s most famous beach, Reynisfjara.
You’ll have a chance to visit the beach and view the strange, hexagonal cliffs surrounding it and the giant Reynisdrangar sea stack rising out of the ocean like terrifying trolls.
On your way back, you will drive through the verdant farmlands of the South Coast, so make sure you keep your eyes peeled for grazing Icelandic horses and sheep. On a sunny day, you will also be in the shadow of two majestic glaciers, particularly the infamous Eyjafjallajokull and the equally spectacular Myrdalsjokull ice cap.
At the end of a great day, you will head back to Reykjavik, with the guide dropping you off at your hotel, the cruise port, or a desired location in the city.
Bring along your favorite people on this private tour and see the waterfalls, glaciers, and black sands of the South Coast. Check availability now by choosing a date.
