Day 1

Day 1 - Arrival in Iceland and Reykjavik with Blue Lagoon Option

You will arrive in the country on the first day of your four-day vacation package in Iceland. You may have time to visit the Blue Lagoon geothermal spa today or explore Reykjavik, depending on your flight time.

Once you've collected your luggage, head outside, where your transfer will await you.

Your driver will take you to your accommodation in Iceland's capital city, Reykjavik, where you will spend the next three nights. The drive is spectacular and a great introduction to Iceland. You'll see the rugged landscapes of the Reykjanes peninsula as you pass by.

If you have an early flight, add the Blue Lagoon geothermal spa to your itinerary and stop here on your way to Reykjavik at an additional cost. The spa is one of Iceland's most famous attractions.

The waters are azure-blue and are rich in minerals like silica, which is thought to have healing properties. Lava fields surround the warm waters, so it's a great place to relax and look out onto Iceland's incredible landscapes.

Amenities here include a swim-up bar, and you can have some spa treatments.

Once you've finished here, you'll be taken back to Reykjavik. If you still have time, explore this small but cosmopolitan city.

Begin your journey at the iconic Hallgrimskirkja church, a towering church offering panoramic city views from its observation deck. Stroll along the picturesque Old Harbor, where you can enjoy fresh seafood at charming restaurants.

Discover Icelandic history and culture at the National Museum and Harpa Concert Hall, and visit one of the many art galleries. Don't miss the quirky and captivating Phallological Museum, showcasing a unique collection of animal phalluses.

Enjoy traditional Icelandic cuisine or fine dining at one of Reykjavik's many fantastic restaurants. Reykjavik also has a thriving nightlife scene with lively bars and clubs.

Get a good night's sleep ahead of your adventures tomorrow.

Strokkur geyser erupts in the Geysir geothermal area.

Day 2 - Reykjavik or Optional Golden Circle Sightseeing and Activity Tours

On the second day of your vacation package in Iceland, you can choose from a range of exciting optional tours, including the Golden Circle sightseeing route, where you can see some of Iceland's most famous attractions.

If it's your first time in Iceland, you should take advantage of the opportunity to see the sights of the Golden Circle route on a guided day tour.

The first stop is the Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nestled in a rift valley, it's where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet, creating dramatic fissures and cliffs.

Thingvellir National Park is also historically significant, hosting the world's first parliament, the Althing, in 930 AD. The park's landscapes feature waterfalls like Oxararfoss and dramatic vistas like the Almannagja Fault.

Next, you'll visit the Geysir geothermal area in the Haukadalur Valley. The site is home to hot springs, geysers, colorful mineral deposits, and bubbling mud pots. The Great Geysir, which all other geysers are named after, is no longer active.

However, the Strokkur geyser erupts every 5-10 minutes, spraying hot water into the air, so you should get to see this during your visit.

The last stop on the Golden Circle sightseeing route is the Gullfoss waterfall. The waterfall consists of two cascading tiers on the Hvíta River, plunging into a deep canyon below.

Its name is derived from the golden hue that sunlight often casts upon the mist.

Other options for today include bathing at the Sky Lagoon geothermal spa, heading out on a boat for a whale-watching tour, or seeing Iceland from above on a helicopter tour.

As it gets dark, you'll also have the option to take a northern lights hunting tour. You can take a bus, boat, or super jeep tour.

Although it isn't guaranteed that you'll see the aurora borealis, your expert guide will know where you have the best chance of seeing them.

Tonight, you'll return to your accommodation in Reykjavik.

Day 3
Seljalandsfoss waterfall on the South Coast of Iceland.

Day 3 - Final Full Day in Reykjavik or Optional South Coast Tour

On the third day of your adventure in Iceland, you will spend your final full day in the country. Today, you can take a tour of Iceland’s South Coast. Other options include exploring more of Reykjavik and heading out on a whale-watching tour.

Iceland’s South Coast is a diverse region renowned for its natural beauty. Stretching along Route 1, the main road of Iceland, it has some dramatic landscapes.

The South Coast is home to two of Iceland’s most spectacular waterfalls, Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss.

Seljalandsfoss waterfall has a 197-foot (60-meter) drop and the unique opportunity to walk behind the cascading water curtain and see the waterfall from a different perspective.

Skogafoss waterfall, further east, is the same height but seems much more powerful. It plummets around 197 feet (60 meters) with power, creating a mist.

You’ll also visit Reynisfjara black sand beach, a beautiful beach formed by volcanic lava. Towering basalt columns resembling organ pipes rise dramatically from the shoreline, creating a striking backdrop.

The crashing waves are powerful and dangerous, and the beach is notorious for its strong currents. Reynisfjara black sand beach is also known for its associated folklore. Your guide will be able to tell you more.

If you haven’t been able to explore much of Reykjavik yet, you could do that today instead. There are walking, food, and hop-on-hop-off bus tours to choose from.

You could visit the Sky Lagoon geothermal spa. Overlooking the North Atlantic Ocean it offers a tranquil retreat with stunning views. The infinity-edge pool is heated by natural geothermal energy, creating a warm and rejuvenating experience.

You can go on a northern lights hunting tour as it gets dark. You can see these by bus, boat or super jeep. Your expert guide will take you to the best places to see the aurora borealis.

Tonight, you will return to your accommodation in Reykjavik and spend your final night in Iceland.

Day 4 - Departure from Iceland

On the fourth and final day of your vacation in Iceland, you will head home.

If you have an early flight, you can enjoy breakfast at your accommodation in Reykjavik before being picked up for your airport transfer. Your transfer will arrive in plenty of time for you to check in for your flight.

Once you've dropped your luggage off, you can go through security and into the departures lounge. Here, you will find restaurants, bars, and shops, keeping you busy while waiting for your flight to board.

If your flight is later, you can spend your last day in Iceland exploring some of its attractions.

If you enjoyed a whale-watching tour during your trip, you should learn more about these sea creatures with a visit to the Whale Museum in Reykjavik.

Situated near the city's Old Harbor, the museum showcases Iceland's rich history of whaling, with exhibits featuring life-sized whale models, skeletal remains, and interactive displays.

Visitors can learn about various whale species found in Icelandic waters, their biology, and the ecological importance of protecting them.

The museum also addresses the controversial history of whaling in Iceland and the global conservation efforts in place today.

Get a last glimpse of Iceland from above with the FlyOver Iceland Show. The FlyOver Iceland show is an immersive experience that allows visitors to soar over Iceland's stunning landscapes without leaving the ground.

This attraction combines cutting-edge technology with cinematic artistry to create a sensory journey. Guests are suspended in a state-of-the-art flight simulator, which takes them on a virtual adventure over Iceland's most iconic natural wonders.

From cascading waterfalls and glaciers to geothermal springs and volcanic vistas, the show provides a bird's-eye view of the country's diverse terrain.

Other options today include the Sky Lagoon and the Wonders of Perlan show.

Your transfer will take you to the airport when it's time, ready for your flight home.
