The first stop is Budakirkja church. This striking black-colored church is situated in the center of an ancient lava field. It has an exciting history dating back to the construction of the first church on this spot in 1703.
Next, you'll head to the traditional fishing village of Arnarstapi. The settlement has a stunning coastline and a beautiful natural harbor framed by spectacular cliff formations.
Heading on from here, you'll visit Londranger, a castle-like formation of rock pinnacles that are the last remnants of an ancient volcano.
You'll then enter the Snaefellsjokull National Park, where extinct volcanos will surround you. Most notable is the ice-capped Snaefellsjokull glacier, after which the park is named.
While in this area, you can stand on the Saxholl crater, one of Iceland's best examples of an extinct volcano crater, for incredible panoramas.
You'll then enjoy a well-deserved lunch break in one of the small villages nearby.
You'll continue your day of epic adventures by traveling to Kirkjufell mountain and waterfall, one of the most magical settings in the whole of the country. This peak is featured in Game of Thrones and is often compared to a church, pyramid, and arrowhead.
You'll then make your return journey to Reykjavik. If you're lucky, you may even see the northern lights on the drive home if you travel in winter.
