Description
Ride a powerful ATV over a large, black, volcanic beach, walk behind the thundering veil of water at Seljalandsfoss waterfall, and take in the incredible view over Iceland's South Coast from the top of the cascade Skógafoss on this fantastic day tour. Those looking to mix sightseeing with a burst of adrenaline should not let this opportunity pass them by.
After being picked up early in the morning or meeting up with your guide at Reykjavík Terminal, you'll be whisked away to Iceland's South Coast, famous for its dramatic coastline and cascading waterfalls. Your first stop is the black desert of Sólheimasandur, in the shadow of Eyjafjallajökull glacier, where you'll swap the bus for a powerful ATV quad-bike.
ATV biking is a unique and super fun way to traverse the stark, black beaches of Iceland's South Coast. This adventure on wheels sets your pulse racing as you speed across the sands, crossing small rivers and streams originating from the active subglacial volcano Katla.
You will make your way to the DC3 plane wreck from 1973, recently seen in Justin Bieber’s music video and photo shoots. Looking northwards and inland, the Mýrdalsjökull glacier rises majestically, while to the south you can sense the raw power of the enormous Atlantic waves crashing on to the shore. Here the scenery is of epic proportions.
Once back on the bus, you will continue your journey and visit an iconic waterfall duo, Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss. The former falls from the heights of 60-metres, and a staircase next to it will lead you to unbelievable views of the South Coast and Iceland's interior. Seljalandsfoss, however, is a narrower cascade which falls over a concave cliff, making it possible to fully encircle the stream of water.
Spice up your holiday in Iceland with this exciting ATV and South Coast tour. Check availability by choosing a date.
