Description

This private South Coast and Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon tour will take you on a fantastic adventure. This experience will show you the true beauty of Icelandic nature and create memories to last a lifetime.

Your day will begin with you being picked up at your accommodation. You will then leave the city behind as you head on Route 1 towards the south of Iceland. From the moment you leave Reykjavik, you will be greeted with wild lava landscapes as though the city ends and wilderness begins. Your eyes will be glued to the window as you take in the incredible lunar landscapes. You will be passing through an active volcano Hengill, where Hellisheiði Power Station is located. The whole area is spitting columns of steam into the air. You can definitely tell something is going on under this mountain and being an eyewitness to this untamed force of nature would be a great memory for you.

You will then travel through Hveragerði, Selfoss, Hella and Hvolsvöllur to get to the famously spectacular Seljalandasfoss waterfall. This breathtaking waterfall will leave your jaw dropped. You have probably seen pictures of Seljalandasfoss, but nothing beats the experience of getting a little wet when walking behind the falling water.

Shortly after visiting Seljalandasfoss you will make a stop near another Icelandic gem, Skógafoss waterfall. This waterfall is a completely different beast. A huge amount of water is dropping down with tremendous force, forming an everpresent water mist that creates beautiful rainbows. It feels like you can almost touch them.

You will make another stop in the charming town of Vík. It has plenty to offer and is a great place to grab a bite to eat. You will stop at a restaurant here where you can buy food and gifts.

You will also visit the famous black beach in Vík, and if you are lucky, you might encounter some puffins on the cliffs.

Another famous beach you will see is the Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach. This is undoubtedly one of the brightest highlights of this tour. Named one of the top 10 beaches in the whole world by National Geographic, this spectacular location will leave you speechless. Basalt stacks, roaring waves and stunning scenery

You will then move along towards the crown jewel of Iceland, the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. This is a glacier lagoon filled with floating icebergs condensed beautifully in one spot. Here you can go on a boat tour on the glacier lagoon, which is an amazing experience. (the extra cost is 5 700 kr.  per adult person and 2000 kr. for children)

Next to the glacier lagoon is the Diamond Beach. You will be amazed at ice chunks glistening in the sun like diamonds tossed around by Atlantic waves make a fabulous spectacle.

You will then be taken back to your accommodation in comfort. Don’t miss out on this exclusive private tour of the south coast that will amaze and stun. Pick a date to check availability.
