Don't miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime experience tracking down the magical Northern Lights here in the beautiful Icelandic wilderness. This tour is a wonderful option for all of those who have ever longed to see the Aurora first hand!
To begin this 4-hour tour, you will first be picked up from your hotel or guesthouse in Reykjavík and be driven hastily away from the light pollution of the city in the evening. Thankfully, you'll be riding in a specially modified Super Jeep, the only vehicle capable of handling Iceland's rough terrain.
Given the desired prize, there is no real destination on this tour; instead, you will follow wherever the lights take you, even onto high mountain roads, ever searching for the best vantage point. When you do, you will be privy to a fabulous solar display, swirling in the sky like ancient spirits. This phenomenal display of colours, varying from greenish yellow to beautiful shades of blue, red, pink, purple and white, is a sight that you will never forget.
As soon as you observe the lights, the Super Jeep will stop for photos and a professional photographer will your picture with the Northern lights in the background, giving you a lasting memento of your experience. There will also be traditional hot chocolate readily available to keep you warm during these chilly moments of respite.
Throughout the tour, your guide will be eager to share with you interesting information about the lights and how they come to form in the night sky. The spectacular Northern Lights, or Aurora Borealis, are created by electrically charged particles and are only visible at the earth's highest elevations.
Please note that it's not possible to guarantee the Northern lights and the tour does not leave town if weather conditions are not right. Instead, the experience is rescheduled for another night. If the tour is not successful, you are welcome to try once more the next time a tour set outs.
So what's the holdup? Make sure to book your place on this Magical Northern Lights tour and you too can experience the majesty of the Aurora Borealis. Check availability by choosing a date.
