Customer service was excellent – email replies were prompt, clear, and patient in answering all our questions. For insurance, we originally booked full coverage, and they even upgraded us for free to Platinum Insurance, which included Full Protection (FP), Collision Damage Waiver (CDW with zero excess), and Gravel Protection. The coverage was comprehensive (just note that undercarriage damage and wind-damaged doors are not included, but both can be avoided with care). The car we rented was a hybrid Toyota RAV4, equipped with a brand-new 10.5-inch screen, built-in GPS with Iceland maps, plus Android Auto and Apple CarPlay – very convenient for driving around. What impressed us most was the exclusive VIP service: free shuttle, airport pick-up, and personal assistance with car collection. Upon arrival, we simply made a call or used WhatsApp, and staff greeted us with a Project Car Rental sign right outside the arrival hall. They then drove us to the nearby office to collect our car – no need to search for keys or worry about finding our way. It made the start of our trip smooth and stress-free. Overall, Project Car Rental truly puts travelers first with thoughtful service and attention to detail. We are very grateful and would highly recommend them!
We rented a Dacia Duster 4DW. It's an excellent car for touring Iceland! The pickup/dropoff location was originally supposed to be at the airport, but it turned out to be 5 km away. At first, I was nervous because we had to be at the airport at 4am on the day of departure, but an agent of Project Car Rental provided a shuttle back and forth between airport and pickup location, even at that early time. Communication was first-class, the shuttle service was customized and reliable. Project Car Rental is an independent car rental company run by a local garage. We didn't have any problem with the car, but I suppose they would provide a good service in case of a mechanical need. I highly recommend this company!
