Day 5 of 3 week Iceland trip

At night the sunset and sunrise, it did not get any darker at night in the north of Iceland.

The landscape was impressive again. We stopped at Grafarkirkja, a nice old wooden church, the only other visitors had just left.

And we had the place for ourselves, as often the case in Iceland.  We enjoyed the birds singing in the grass and in the air, they were worried we would get to their nests.Day 5 of 3 week Iceland trip

We continued our way to Hvítserkur, a strangely shaped rock in the sea full of birds. I was not equipped with a long telephoto lens for our camera.

Next was Illugastaðir to walk to the beach where the seals were resting. At first they were difficult to spot, so well blended in the environment.

Luckily we had brought binoculars and the Video camera had a good zoom lens.

Finally we headed to the campsite at Hvammstangi. I had prepared several Vlogs I wanted to get online for our friends at home. At the campsite the Wi-Fi was very slow, due to too many users, so I decided to use my 3G telephone data, which worked perfect.

I had bought a Icelandic “Síminn” data card. This proved to be very useful during our trip. The process of topping up proved to be a bit complicated at first, you need a working data connection or Wi-Fi. Thanks to helpful Icelandic youth this was solved.
