Sónar 2014

Sónar 2014

Sónar 2014

Þetta var geðveikt (This was awesome). This was definitely one of my favourite weekends EVER. If you are thinking about going to Sónar next year, than I say why THINK about doing something you can DO?

The days were all different, but still all really fun. My favourite day was Friday and my favourite performance was Major Lazer.

This was my first time going to Sónar and definitely not my last.

Thursday

On Thursday I saw HE, Flog, GusGus, Tonik and Introbeats. There were a lot of people on the Gusgus concerts and what I heard was that they were great but I for some reason wasn't there.

But my favourite that night was Eloq. It was just so awesome, and everybody dancing and having fun. You could feel the beat and it was just so great.

Friday

On Friday, I only heard awesome things. Almost the whole entire time, which was 5 hours, I was dancing and my feet still hurt from the day before, because I did not choose the right shoes. So that is one thing I recommend, wear comfortable shoes. My favourite bands of the night were Bonobo, Gluteus Maximus, Kölsch and Jon Hopkins.

It was just so fun listening and dancing to something different than usually and Bonobo was someone I was not used to listen to before, but now I have him on my playlist.

I had never heard about Kölsch before but now he is also on my playlist. It doesn't really matter what mood I am in, I can always listen to him. The people did really like him at Sónar and it was just so amazing to dance to this music in this crowed because everybody were just in there own minds and not thinking, just letting the music control the body.

Saturday

Saturday, and also the last day of Sónar, I had the most fun. I was just there, living in the moment the entire time. I did not get to see all of the bands I wanted to but if I could go back in time, I would not change anything from that night. I got to see a little bit of Ojba Rasta. They are one of my favourite Icelandic bands. I heard them for the first time when I was at Aldrei fór ég suður at Ísafjörður 2013.

DJ Hedrik and Diplo were in the car park. It was cool down there so it was great going there when you still wanted to dance but also wanted to cool down and listen to good music. This was one of few places you could always trust that there would be good music.

Diplo was so great. This was his first time playing in Iceland and I really hope not his last, because I really like his music and the crowed really loved him to.

The best and the last concerts I went to were with Major Lazer. He is my guilty pleasure. The concerts were awesome and everybody were having fun. There was so much going on the whole entire time they were on stage and when you wanted to go into your own mind and just enjoy the music you still wanted to see what was going on on the stage.

I still today can't believe I was at Sónar because it was so fun. It is a great way to fill your playlist with awesome music and get to meet new people. Also, who doesn't love concerts where every body is having fun. I am definitely going to Sónar next year and I think you should also come.
