I would do this again over any type of boat, going out on the kayaks was the best choice! It was calm first but then a massive glacier that we were in front of (not too close of course) totally broke apart and caused a lot of movement in the lagoon which was absolutely epic! Our guide Stefan kept his cool and made sure everyone was safe the whole time. The sound of massive glaciers breaking and crackling is the coolest thing. I would totally do this again!

We were so lucky to have a sunny day and everything was perfect. We also saw a seal lion on a ice rock! Highly recommended!

Such a cool experience. I was the only one in the group so had the guides all to myself, got to see seals alongside the kayak and icebergs falling and shifting, while learning about the glacier and nature around me.

When we were first planning for an Iceland trip, this is one of the must-do items on our list and we were definitely not disappointed! To be able to get closer to the icebergs is something we will never imagine we would do. It is another wonder of nature which Iceland offers and we were amazed at how big the icebergs actually are, and the brilliant colours with different tones of blue on each of them. We got some nice sightings of the seals too! After you are done with the kayaking, do stay and take in the amazing views of the glacier lagoon and the icebergs if you are not rushing for time. The guide will provide dry suit but do also wear something warm too. Some advice - If you are travelling to the meeting point using Google map, use the gps coordinates provided instead of the guidetoiceland.is 'Direction' button. There is a slight difference between the 2 places. Also, recommend to reach 30mins earlier to allow yourself time to find the correct party providing the kayaking activity and also to change into the dry suit. They are quite strict on the timing and rightly so in order to start on time for participants to enjoy more time to appreciate the icebergs while kayaking. Highly recommended activity!
