Helga is WONDERFUL! We were lucky to end up with a private tour for me and my daughter and Helga was as warm and friendly as could be! I had informed Helga that it was my daughter’s birthday and she greeted her with a small gift and an Icelandic rendition of “Happy Birthday”! What a fantastic surprise! My daughter felt so special, it was great! Helga was so accommodating to our schedule and showed us all around the city sharing her insights into the history and legends of the city and Iceland. Helga is very personable, easy to talk to, and very knowledgeable. After the city tour she drove us to the Blue Lagoon and escorted us inside to ensure we were well taken care of upon arrival including ensuring we were able to upgrade our package last minute. We went in the evening and I think it was the PERFECT timing, because it didn’t seem to crowded and we were certainly able to find our own little quiet area for pictures without a million people in the background. The waters were amazing! We kept our hair up out of the water as we heard it can be quite damaging and that seemed to work. We spent about 40 mins in the water and spent the rest of our time at dinner in one of the 2 restaurants. The food was spectacular and they presented a beautiful birthday dessert to my daughter “on the house”. They were very accommodating as we did not have a reservation, but they sat us right away. Our timing couldn’t have been better. Tip – get a clear waterproof case for your phone so you can take pictures or take them right away at the entrance to the lagoon under the bridge and then take your camera/phone back to the lockers so you can just enjoy your beautiful surroundings. I felt like old friends with Helga once we were done and she even offered to get us back to the airport the next day. So accommodating and friendly, do not hesitate to choose Helga for your next tour! **Tips for your tour guides are not expected/mandatory, but always welcomed and appreciated!
